Podiatry

Podiatry is the area of medicine that deals with the feet, ankles, and lower extremities. Podiatrists have the designation of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) rather than the more traditional Medical Doctor (MD). Our podiatrists here at Granger Medical Clinic specialize in the diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of conditions relating to areas below the knee. These conditions include bunions, calluses, warts, hammertoe, other foot deformities, plantar fasciitis, pain, trauma, and more. Treatment may include prescription medication, creams, orthopedic inserts, diabetic foot care, physical therapy, and surgery.

Our highly trained and caring staff have the skills and expertise needed to provide you with the highest quality care. It is our mission to get you back on your feet, living an active lifestyle and doing the things you enjoy!

Care Instructions

If you have questions about caring for your foot or toe after having a procedure done, please select the appropriate instructions below.

Warts

Warts are skin growths caused by viruses and can grow on any part of the body. Your hands and feet are highly susceptible because they come in contact with many surfaces on a regular basis, exposing them to many different microorganisms. Warts can remain the same or they can grow, spread, or disappear entirely. Our podiatrists can evaluate your current condition and help formulate an appropriate treatment plan.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the band of fibrous connective tissue that’s located on the bottom of the foot which runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. There are many different treatment options available for plantar fasciitis which include stretching the band, support inserts, and injections. Click the link below for more information, a complete list of treatments, and rehabilitation exercises you can do at home to help relieve your symptoms.

Diabetic Foot Facts and Care Guidelines

Diabetes can cause poor blood circulation and nerve damage in the legs and feet which can lead to the inability to feel pain. Because of this, small sores and cuts can go unnoticed and can easily become serious problems if left untreated. In fact, diabetes is the leading cause of lower-limb amputations in the United States. Click the link below for more information including tips for preventing complications from diabetes and guidelines for proper diabetic foot care.
